What Can We Do if a Company has Filed a Complaint with IC3 Against Us That is Not True?

We received an email (my email, but addressed to my husband) that said he had defaulted on a payday loan by a company American Cash Advanced. They want us to go to Walgreen’s, purchase a money card and fax them the information in the amount of $300. If we don’t do this by Friday, a warrant for my husband’s arrest will be issued.

We have never heard of this company at all! What can we do? Can this really be happening, there is no information about when this loan supposedly happened, nothing about this company (ACA), no way to contact anyone to defend ourselves. Is this another type of scam?

The first thing you need to know is that payday loans are illegal in the state of Arkansas. If you receive any paperwork in the mail, take it to an experienced bankruptcy attorney. Otherwise, you can relax and know that this is someone trying to scam you. Dustin McDaniel is our Attorney General and he has a website that you can use to report this. www.GotYourBackArkansas.org
