My car was totaled and the adjuster won't give me a fair price. What can I do?

You do not have to take the first offer you get from the adjuster for the property. Remember, the adjuster is not trying to help you, but to settle for as little money as possible. If you have photos of your car before the accident, you may want to share them with the adjuster. It is also helpful to have a good idea of what your car is really worth. Two websites we use are www.nada.com and www.kbb.com. Both of these sites use your zip code and the specifications of your car to give you a high and a low value. An adjuster will usually end up settling for an amount between the high and the low value. After you have refused the first offer, send the adjuster the values that support your counter offer.
